Happy retirement and painting – David Solomons

Happy retirement and painting – David Solomons

Retirement only happens once in a lifetime and for dVT Group this is our once in our lifetime retirement announcement.

It is both with joy and sadness that we announce the retirement of David Solomons, effective from 30 June 2020.

After a distinguished career in education and commerce, David joined our firm in 2004 as a senior member of our insolvency team.  He very quickly became a valuable asset and his undeniable ability and strength as an insolvency practitioner led him to become a registered liquidator and also a bankruptcy trustee.  In 2009, he joined Antony deVries and Riad Tayeh to become our third partner.

David has been an integral part of our firm over the last 16 years.  His contribution will always be valued and remembered not only for his exceptional talent and professionalism on the job, but for being kind-hearted, nurturing and approachable.  There is no doubt that those who had the pleasure of working with David will have a high level of admiration for him as a person and will miss him greatly.

One of David’s legacies is our second office, in the Sydney CBD.  He leaves this in the capable and adequate charge of now almost 20 staff, led by partner Antony Resnick.

At our farewell staff gathering, David presented the firm with a farewell gift.  It was one of his own masterpieces of a scene in Algarve, Portugal, showcasing his well-developed skills as an artist.

It gives us great pleasure to know that David’s retirement days will be filled with three of his favourite things – his 2 adorable grandchildren, his passion for art and his love of yoga.

So, please join us in wishing David all the best for his retirement and the exciting next stage of his life, and as David always says … be well!
